Profile building-The holistic YOU!

Updated: Jul 1, 2021

Profile Building has become an important commitment while preparing for admission to selective universities outside of India. The classic logic is that Indian colleges use an exam-based admissions process, whereas those outside the country use a holistic approach.

Profile building, in its most basic form, is the process of developing projects and skills that can be showcased on your CV. This can then be used for a variety of purposes, such as applying to a selective college programme or landing a desired job.

When you define profile building in terms of projects and demonstrable skills, certain interesting features emerge: Interest-based: You can't do a long-term activity unless you have a strong interest in the subject matter. This is even more true for jobs and higher education. As a result, seek out your interests in all scenarios and avoid being swayed by short-term fixes. 1. Long-term: Developing your projects can take months. A typical profile building charter can last anywhere from one to four years, depending on the goals you want to achieve and the level of mastery you want to achieve. Finally, projects on the CV building treadmill are a part of a never-ending spectrum. 2.Exploratory: Sometimes you come across an 'Aha' moment when you stroll through a complex Web of interconnected concepts. You forge new connections at this point and may be inspired to build your own thing. An explorer's thinking helps you discover journeys like this. 3 Experiential and project driven: creating inspiration would lead to new projects – whether this is an investigation or a project manager. Different projects will not only demonstrate your skills, but also help you develop new skills that can help you further in your pursuit.

4. Aligned work and practise:Such an approach must eventually be outside the theoretical realms and be grounded in reality and ultimate results. Through this logic, most projects tend to be multidisciplinary with inputs from different disciplines, like life or work. The only truth in such a practical approach is to search for context in your missions and make it possible through several projects.

The successful way forward is to follow this rubric; Such a project or CV building clearly has many long-term advantages. Clearly. First, it helps you acquire relevant skills from the 21st century, such as critical thinking, complex solving of issues and creativity. It will help you find ways of building mastery and find the jobs or training destinations you have chosen. You must also realise that these efforts are never stopped in this knowledge-driven economy. Stay curious and be ready to experiment; your ongoing efforts to improve your profile will keep you up-to-date and relevant throughout your career and your university.
